Malaysian style equality

I just want to get this out.

There is a trend, at least in thought, to having some sorta goddamn QUOTA system to achieve “fairness”.

Imagine this. You open a place, whatever it is, you make sure there is a quota. 30% Indian, 30% Chinese, 30% Malay and the rest for ‘lain-lain’(the others). At first, it seems fair, WOW IT DOES SEEM EQUAL !

But wait, hold your goddamn horses, dont we NOT WANT racial preferences? Dont we NOT WANT any sort of system that judges you by something that you CANNOT CONTROL? And im not talking about height, in case of any basketball jokes. How bout even not judging you at all.

It seems all fair and dandy, because it BENEFITS US. Us the non-Bumiputera’s. A bigger share of the pie, the feeling of being equal again, bla bla.  But thats a short term gain.

How about opening the curtain all the way, and say hey we’re flattered by the gesture, but we dont need a fix up. We want something permanent.

Living with the current system now, lets hope Malaysians to come dont get the this shortcut idea of equality.

  1. The quota system is for those who fear that they’re not good enough to get into something. Hence, this secures them the undeserving spot.
Off topic – I have a gripe about degree students these days. Have you heard how a fracking uni student with a degree talks these days (not an intentional gripe at those who can at least speak English without thinking ‘queer’ is spelled as ‘choir’, and vice versa.)
And these people have the nerve to ask for a RM 3k salary!
There goes the future of the country.

  2. 3k Muahahahah now thats ambitious. Do you think its human nature, or its just a chinaman thing?

  3. Vietnam has over 50 races and no quotas. The aborigines in the highlands who still walk around in loincloths have as many rights as the women in velvet coats in Hanoi. Development there is so fast, in 20 years they’ll be way ahead of us. It’s time we learn from others.
